It’s time to make the critical shift from leading the business by yourself to leading an organization of people. At P2Excellence, we help you navigate the uncharted territories of organizational growth with clarity and confidence.
In the midst of this crazy time, I have been thinking about a favorite hymn of mine. It’s called “ Here I Am, Lord ” by John Michael Talbot. In the hymn, God speaks to who He is and what He wants, and the verse ends with “Whom Shall I send?” We “the people” respond with:
Here I am Lord
Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go Lord
If You lead me
I will hold Your people in my heart
I had written a longer post for today, trying to balance encouragement, the recognition of fear and confusion, and some practicalities. But this hymn has stayed in my head. You are smart enough to know we are all carrying competing values around safety. Wanting to gather and to keep business in business, to isolate and “flatten the curve”, to trust and mistrust, to let others lead and to go our own way.
You don’t need advice from me. Just the assurance that you will figure it all out. For today, and perhaps tomorrow, you will course-correct based on new data and new experiences. Meanwhile, we can (and will) make the conscious choice to have the heart for others. I know that to be true.
I don’t know how I might help you in this challenging time, but if I can, please reach out. I am rooting for you all!
Take care,
